About me:
President of the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District - Board of Education. Four years experience on the Board and two years as president.
First grade teacher at Clay Elementary School in San Diego.
Mother of two incredible LMAAC students.
Long-time La Mesa resident in Trustee Area 2.
My Ballot Statement:
As president of the LMSVSD board of trustees, I am proud of all we have accomplished over the past four years. We passed a school bond, with a focus on school safety and security, we established trustee areas to ensure fair representation across the community, we navigated the pandemic to safely reopen our schools, and we built a team of mental health professionals to serve our students.
I have eighteen years experience teaching in public schools and a masters in education. All of my classroom experience has served diverse students who speak multiple languages, represent various cultures, and have unique educational needs. I am also the proud parent of two LMAAC students.
Educating ALL children is the most important work our schools have been entrusted with. Students thrive when they have access to a safe and rich course of study, including the arts and PE. It is critical that we continue to support the diverse and unique needs of every learner. We need YOU to make OUR work a reality: community members, parents, teachers, and students.
